Traditional tortillas are made by hand on a comal. The women get up at 3 in the morning to grind the corn and make the masa for the corn tortillas. The tortillas are then cooked on the comal. Enough are made for the entire family for the day. They are hot and ready when the children and husband get up a couple of hours later / Se hacen las tortillas a mano en el comal. In August 2005, the board of directors and friends participated in one of the cooperative’s bi-monthly workshops. Together, we created a quilt of our hopes.
